Many, many, many years ago I took a photo of the very first day of school for Elise.
I was very proud of my girl.
Today I’m even prouder.
Today Elise finished Secondary School.
No more uniforms, cut lunches, struggling (some mornings) to get to school on time, drama’s with fellow students, money for excursions, hassels with teachers.
As always Ashley, Nicola, James and I are in the background being the support network when we are needed but from now on she is effectively on her own.
It’s up to Elise to get to uni on time. To make her own decisions. To accept life as it is with all it’s challenges.
It’s really kind of exciting and a bit scary.
Guess this is what they mean about letting your chicks leave the nest and fly on their own.
