Cleo

Today I lost my best friend.

Cleo

14 December 1992 – 1 May 2010

She has shared our lives for a little over 18 years.   In good times and bad and today we had to say goodbye.

Her health had been failing for several months and she had deteriorated rapidly in the last few days but despite that she was still our “old girl” always there, often sleeping but loyal to the end.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

  1. Oh Catherine I am so sorry… They wiggle into your heart and leave such a gaping wound when they go.. Her little spirit will remain doing all those things she did when she was here.. All my love and hugs xoxoxox

Thank you for leaving a comment. I love to read your thoughts on my posts and I do try to respond, sometimes though life gets in the way.
