Some more progress on my Ocean Doll. It is been a very slow process and I am still having trouble just “letting go” and creating, without the meticulous planning before hand.
Still, what I have acheived this morning, I am reasonably pleased with. I must admit, every now and then I get the urge to cut off all the beads and throw the rest in the bin. So far I am resisiting the urge…lol.
This is the right hand side of the previous photo. I removed the “snail” that was going to be there (right at the bottom amongst the orange seaweed). It was annoying me and instead did some chain stitch in blue and whipped over that with a light gold thread. I think it looks better.
I have also been sewing on lots and lots of beads. The original plan was to leave the beading, or at least most of it, until the doll was constructed, then sew them on. I was thinking along the lines of how difficult it will be to get the machine to sew where I want it to, not where the beads want it to. However if necessary, I will sew the whole thing together by hand.
